La historia transcurre en San Xiao de Vigo (Galicia) donde viven unas 200 habitantes, con destacado papel laboral de la mujer en las actividades de la explotación familiar, al igual que en toda Galicia, y en los procesos de desarrollo rural comunitario. Se presenta el consenso alcanzado por esta pequeña comunidad para abordar el suministro de agua corriente y red de alcantarillado, aspecto esencial en la modernización. También pone de relieve el papel del personal funcionario del Servicio de Extensión Agraria del Ministerio de Agricultura: Agente de Extensión Agraria y Agente de Economía Doméstica.
The story takes place in San Xiao de Vigo (Galicia), a village with some 200 inhabitants, where women play a major role in the activities of the family farm business –as was common all over Galicia–, and in the process of rural development in the community. The film shows how this small community reaches a consensus for solving the problem of providing a running water supply and sewage system, an essential aspect of modernisation. It also highlights the role of the government staff deployed by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Agricultural Extension Service, the Agricultural Extension Agent and the Domestic Economy Agent.
